During this time of COVID-19, all digital audio oral history interviews are recorded remotely, using on-site digital audio recorders that we send to you. We capture broadcast quality recordings (uncompressed wav files, 44.1 kHz, 24-bit), that are professionally mixed, mastered, and transferred to archival and listening formats: wav files, mp3 files, audio CDs, and hard drive devices. Audio archives can be further enhanced with lightly edited transcripts, print and photographic materials. After our initial conversation, we will design a personally tailored project proposal that meets your wishes for a project’s audio format, scope, schedule, and budget. As the Archivist of Temple Emanu-El, an historic San Francisco congregation founded in 1850, my association with Ms. Hecht began in 2004 when she and I embarked on a project to digitize a series of decade-old oral histories she conducted in the 1990s.
